| Synopsis

Flow seduces us from the mist that covers the moors, takes us into the microscopic world to admire all the life that a single drop of water can have, and takes us through the torrential currents of rivers to the sublime oceans. This 360° video invites us to see our own reflection in the water as a dancing body that becomes a metaphor, disintegrates, evaporates, turns into particles, and moves with an insatiable flow, merges with the landscape, and becomes a body of water.

Our process began in January 2018 with the participation of some members in the growing virtual reality seedbed of the Exploratorio del Parque Explora in Medellín. There we made a first experience called Latidos for the VR Chat platform that allowed us to consolidate a concept and some bases to continue exploring the interaction of art through unconventional technological tools such as virtual reality glasses.

Next, we developed a much more robust project called Latidos Marinos, which was the winner of the Convocatoria de Estímulos para el Arte y la Cultura 2018 of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín. At this point we began an artistic residency for 5 months at the Exploratorio del Parque Explora, a space that supports the execution of different projects with non-traditional bets in the city.

The reception of the virtual reality installation Latidos Marinos, created from the heart of humpback whales and their songs, allowed us to also create an associated work in video dome format that was awarded and exhibited in Medellin and Bogota.
